"The true test of how 'darn tough' these socks are will come later in the sock's life. However, I can say that they held up very well on their first 2 hikes, they've now gone about 26km and they are very comfortable, and breathable. They are not VERY thick, when the description says 'cushioned' they're not like ski socks. They will fit comfortably in hiking boots."
