"I have worn these once and they have a hole in the toe. One short hike on fairly flat terrain.... I own a couple of pairs of Darn Tough stanley work socks that have been '5 star' brilliant and get worn on rotation 6 days a week. This prompted me to try the hiking socks. I previously used Bridgedale socks that have lasted years. I am an experienced hiker and have good fitted La Sportiva boots and I also know the importance of keeping my toe nails trimmed! I love the design of these socks but for £30 a pair I would not expect them to get a hole after one wear. I have filled in your online warranty form on my account but so far I've not had a reply."

Wet socks bckpacking? NO Problem

"I really liked the midweight socks for the JMT. They are more cushion for the long days. 7 days 70 miles no blisters is a big win. They also maintain their softness despite the days of sweat and dirt. I was completely wet a couple of times but continued to hike without any blisters or discomfort"

Fit is off just a bit but I love em.

"I've found these to be larger than anticipated. I wear a size 13 wide shoe/boot and the XL is the recommended size but seem a bit too big and the L seem just a smidge small but fit me better than the XL. Darn Tough I am writing

"Darn Tough I am writing this review to thank you and let others know what a wonderful and ethical company you are. My daughter, who used to work for the Colorado Trail, told me about Darn Tough socks about fifteen years ago. I wish I would have known about these socks when I was a young boy. I am 82+ years of age now and I walk several miles almost every day for my health. These socks are the most comfortable, longest wearing socks I have ever had. They keep my feet warm in the winter and cool in the summer. They don’t bunch up and they wick moisture away from my feet. I took a short five mile hike that started with wading across a stream. My feet were comfortable for the rest of the hike even though my boots and socks were soaked at the start of the hike. The company, Darn Tough, exchanged a pair of socks under warranty for me several years ago. It was rather expensive to send one pair of socks through the mail compared to the cost of the socks so I decided to wait until I had several pairs of socks with wear holes before sending another pair. I had to wait a LONG time for several pairs to wear out and when I finally had two more pairs develop wear holes, three more pairs simultaneously and surprisingly developed a problem. I was a little nervous about sending six pairs all at once, but when I called Darn Tough the customer service rep was kind and helpful, reassuring me about their warranty. I sent the socks and Darn Tough backed their warranty immediately. Even though I am 82+ years of age now, I am hopeful I will get another chance to make use of their unconditional lifetime warranty. I can’t say enough good things about Darn Tough. They are the best company I have ever dealt with - bar none. Thank you, Bob H. P. S. - My sister from out-of-town was visiting a few days ago. She looked down and saw I was wearing Darn Tough socks and asked, “Aren’t those the best socks?”"
