Best Socks for the Military Man

"I have been wearing Tarn Tough Midweight Tactical Socks (T4021)basically since I joined the army. I have tried the Fox Rivers and some other brands and have consistently found that the Darn Toughs smell less and can take as much abuse as I can throw at them. I have worn these same socks everywhere from Fort Drum in the winter to the middle of NTC (Mohave Desert) in the Summer and they have performed flawlessly. Cannot recommend these enough. I wear them in civilians as well. For the money, they are the best sock I have ever found. I haven't ever needed to use their lifetime replacement warranty, but it's even more peace of mind."

Highly recommend

"I’ve put a lot of miles on these midweight hikers, and they still feel as good as the day I bought them. The cushion is perfect, thick enough to prevent hotspots and blisters, but not so bulky that my boots feel tight. They thermoregulate incredibly well, keeping my feet warm in the cold and dry when it heats up. Yes, they are a bit of an investment up front, but between the sheer durability and Darn Tough's legendary lifetime warranty, you easily get your money's worth."

Perfect

"Buy with confidence. Top quality sock. My birthdays and Xmas presents are sorted for the foreseeable future."

David B. (5/5)

"They're ok, I've only worn them once and whilst they were comfy and well fitted, they still felt a little rough on my toes, but maybe I am being a bit over sensitive, I did have rough socks on the day before. Are they worth the money. . . No idea I haven't owned them long enough yet"

Christopher (4/5)

Positively the best socks around.

"Positively the best socks around. I wear them almost every day. Love that they don't hold onto odor."

Zachary O. (5/5)

I worked as a delivery

"I worked as a delivery driver for a major logistics company and these socks kept my feet comfortable and blister free all day long! Highly recommend."

Stacey L. (5/5)

Best Socks

"I wear each pair once a week in a tactical enviornment and bought them 3 years ago. No wear, still comfortable and snug fit."

Zachary B. (5/5)

Not matter the heat maintain dry feet!

"Always trying different Darn Tough socks out in different situations. We are repairing work in a steel mill. The air temperature is around 115 degrees plus the work we are doing . The only dry part of myself was my feet."

Kevin C. (5/5)

Socks are great. I wear

"Socks are great. I wear them in Danner side zip boots, and my feet have never been happier. The elasticity has started to relax but overall, still very happy."

Michael T. (5/5)

Work socks

"They are perfect work socks."

Q&A

I would like to buy a pair for my son but not sure he will follow the washing instructions. Is that a problem? Will they shrink? Thanks
If the socks are washed using water that is too warm or dried with too high heat, then yes the socks can easily shrink.
Hello - what would you recommend for a female (slender - 120-125 lbs) size 7/7.5 women’s shoe? ROTC cadet. Should it be tighter (xs) or bigger (s)? Don’t want it to bunch too much!
Hi BB! We recommend a size small. We've found that customers who fall on the upper end of a size run do choose to size up due to the snug, performance fit of our socks.
Would these be good for an Alaskan hunting trip in the winter or great lake winter?
Yes! A midweight sock is a great option and another option would be a heavyweight sock to keep you warm.
T4021 how much does one pair cost?
Hello, A pair of T4021 costs $28.00.
Would these socks be good for South Floridian weather, to use with work boots? (Hot and humid). What about with wingtip dress shoes?
Hi Zac! The T4021 is a midweight option that will work well in a variety of conditions! We use wool for its amazing natural properties including temperature regulation, odor resistance, and moisture wicking. These will work very well in work boots but might be a bit too much volume for a dress shoe. We know it can be tricky to shop for socks online so we got you covered with free return shipping for exchanges or returns for 90 days on all orders placed on our website, just in case!
