Great socks!

"The fit is very nice and I appreciate having a lighter weight pair for hiking late spring/early fall so my feet don't get too hot. Darn Tough's lifetime guarantee is unbeatable too- I wish there were more companies like this that show their commitment to sustainability and loyal customers!"

Perfect midweight socks for crazy VT weather

"These socks are so comfortable, they don’t slide down into my shoes & don’t come off when I lift my feet out of my boots. They keep my feet perfectly warm in these crazy Vermont spring temperatures. Love the cushioned soles, they’re great for long hours standing."

Ethan H. (5/5)

Awesome socks - but tend to stretch on multi-day backpacking

"I love Darn Tough socks and have several pair. However, I am in between small and medium - leaning toward medium, even though my shoe size (8ish) puts me square in the medium size. This is not normally an issue, unless I'm doing a long enough backpacking trip where I switch between 2 pairs - they get stretched out, and then add bulk at the heel without some fidgeting. Ultimately - I love everything else about them!"

Fit GREAT

"I wear a woman’s size 11. 5 narrow. The Darn Tough women’s size L midweight hiking socks fit GREAT! The quarter socks sit perfectly over my ankle. The socks do not shift, stay in place, provide a little extra cushion so no heal rub from my hiking shoes! I wear them year round. I don’t find them hot or cold, they are perfect. I usually get 3-4 days out of them between washes. My feet sweat a tiny bit but not an issue when wearing darn tough socks."

A Mothers Day Gift to my Wife

"According to my spouse, these quarter hiker socks live up to Darn Tough's reputation and her past experiences with its products. The overall softness and the cushioned feeling - for years - keep the family coming back for Vermont's best."

Neal L. (5/5)

Sandra L. (5/5)

Perfect Gift!

"These were a gift for my wife, and she always loves the midweight socks in different colors and the animals or scenery portrayed on the socks."

You Have to Feel Them to Believe Them

"These socks are made for comfort. There is just the right amount of cushion in all the key places, they keep my feet both warm and dry and there is plenty of room for my toes to feel comfortable. I have washed these and air dried them several times. They do not shrink. They work so well, I recommended Darn Tough socks to my Podiatrist."

Dina F. (5/5)

These socks have changed

"I've been wearing and loving these socks for years. Just bought a couple of new pairs and was disappointed to see that they've changed. They're thinner now, and they don't fit as well. They are loose across the the forefoot and scrunch up, needing constant adjustment. Disappointed!"

Q&A

In women’s sizes, if my shoe size is 9 1/2 or 10, should I chose a Medium or Large?
Hi Beth! Some customers who fall on the upper end of a size run do choose to size up due to the snug, performance fit of our socks. Hi, are these hiking socks waterproof?
Hi Ash! While our socks aren’t waterproof, they do wick moisture and keep your feet dry and comfortable. Here’s an article that dives into how our moisture-wicking socks work!:https://darntough.com/blogs/the-alternate-stitch/merino-wool-makes-best-moisture-wicking-socks
How does these midweight socks perform in higher temperatures such as 80-90f? Will they overheat?
The Women's Hiker Quarter Midweight Hiking Sock will perform well in various temperatures, including higher temperature climates. Merino wool fibers regulate body temperature, and will not overheat.
Why doesn't Darn Tough make black hiking socks? I own several colors of Darn Tough hiking socks but what I really want is a pair of light or midweight quarter hiking socks in BLACK.
